Abom Municipal Assembly (School) Plants 2,000 Trees

The MORE Staff in Ghana is fast on our way to supplying 100,000 kids one tree each in Accra (capital of Ghana) this year. All of the trees are planted by students on school ground or in city parks and green areas. These trees will provide fruit, nuts, and endless seeds for distribution across Ghana.

One of the 80 schools receiving tree seeds from us in 2018 is the Abom Municipal Assembly located in the eastern part of Accra (GA-East). They planted 2,000 trees on June 25, 2018. There were several varieties of trees planted.  One pair of used shoes can generate 10,000 Mangos from one tree in its life. Avocado, Oranges, and a range of African fruits are being made available by MORE Foundation Group-USA with your used athletic shoe donations. Trees also hold millions of gallons of water in the atmosphere while providing shade which reduces classroom and ground temperatures. The students gain skills in sustainable agro-forestry and have the responsibility of maintaining the trees on the school compound.  The trees and training are 100% funded with your shoe donations, learn more about how it works and search our donation locations for places where you can donate your shoes.
