Store of the Month, The Trak Shak

When The Trak Shak opened in 1995, Valerie McLean, the owner, was looking for a way to compete a little with “big box” pricing, which was normally around $10 less than suggested retail. She contacted a local charity, the Jimmy Hale Foundation which housed, fed and help clothe local homeless people and asked if they could add The Trak Shak to their weekly pick up. That’s when the Shoe Trade In Program began! We’d offer $10 OFF for your used running shoes to all our customers. When the MORE Foundation contacted us a couple of years ago, we had more than enough trade ins to go around! We love the efficiency of receiving the pre-labeled boxes, filling them up, and shipping back out, and like the donation to Jimmy Hale, we are especially proud the shoes are going to such a great cause to provide sustainable lives for families in Africa!
